Route 1 Farm

Route One Farm

Jeff Larkey and his crew at Route One consistently grow some of the most gorgeous produce around. Our last batch of Apple a Day was made entirely with their green cabbage. They picked it on Monday, delivered it on Tuesday and by Wednesday night it was on its way to becoming kraut.

Doesn’t get much fresher than that!

Another great farmer in the area is Phil Foster. His onions, carrots and cabbage have all landed in our krauts.

Gotta have heat for peppers, and in the Central Joaquin Valley they’ve got plenty. Hands down the best jalapenos around, our Holy Smokes is chalk full of these fiery beauties.

Here's a bit of Willey wisdom:

“We strive to put out a product that is superior to conventional produce in flavor, appearance, and ecological costs. We pick, pack and ship a product that shows more care and attention to detail than the large organic operations. It has been said that, a job well done brings honor to the task and satisfaction to the soul."

We couldn’t agree more!

You know those apples that taste perfectly great but maybe don’t have the same curb appeal as some of their pretty cousins? Well we take those little ugly ducklings and turn them into tasty krauts.  Tart and sweet, Silva’s pippin apples are perfect for our Apple a Day Kraut.
